This 5 litre urine collection tank, made from semi-translucent sturdy plastic, has a large 4″ cap in the centre which enables it to sit under urine-separating toilet bowls such as the Kildwick Kompact and Kilwick Klassic urine separator, the Privy 500 or Privy 501.
Ideal for people who are building their own compost toilets and need to capture urine (for example on a boat or motorhome/caravan where it’s not possible to discharge it directly outside into a soakaway or drain). This is also the same container that we install in the Eco-Loo Mini Capture 5/18 and 5/13.
With a maximum capacity of 5 litres, it is ideal for full-time use by a single person or couple. As a rough guide, a person produces about 1.5 litres of liquid daily so this will give 2 – 3 days capacity, although we would recommend daily emptying is possible. When completely full, it will weigh around 6kg.
The cap is a generous 4″ – allowing a quick visual check on contents and also means a great of flexibility in terms of the spout from the urine separator in terms of size and location, also allowing for it coming down at a slight angle if your toilet top is hinged.
Height: 150mm (excluding cap & screw), width: 150mm, length: 273 mm. Cap is a 4″ screw cap with rubber seal.
Made from extremely tough and durable materials that will withstand constant heavy use and cleaning.
Tip – Urine Odour Prevention! Stale urine will smell and will eventually form a ‘crust’ on the inside of the container and pipework, with the possibility of odours lingering. The best way to prevent odours is to empty and swill the urine container out as regularly as possible – perhaps daily. In addition, some people like to use the Eco Urine blocks in the separator, which will impart a perfume on each use and deploy an enzyme which helps prevent a crust developing. You can also use a spray bottle with a weak white vinegar solution to spray the toilet bowl after each use – this will again help with odours and urine crystallising.
